Our Approach to Counterfeit and Misrepresented Parts

Counterfeit and misrepresented parts are prohibited. TabAirโ€™s controls are review, records, and removal. They are not a promise that every document has been authenticated.

Similar is not the same. Condition, approval, and identity still have to be checked one unit at a time.

The rule is a prohibition, not a slogan

The restricted-products rules prohibit stolen, counterfeit, fraudulently documented, illegally obtained, embargoed, or recalled items. They also prohibit listings where title, authority to sell, traceability, or legally required documentation cannot reasonably be shown.

Marketplace rules require true identity and forbid false approval status and documents submitted without authority. Those rules apply to sellers and agents alike.

What the platform can do

TabAir can ask for participant and listing documents, refuse or remove a listing, restrict an account, and keep the message and file record of what was claimed. A managed workflow makes that record harder to scatter across private apps.

Buyers and sellers can also refuse a deal when identifiers do not match. That commercial stop is part of prevention. Waiting for a perfect external alert is not.

Identifiers belong to the article in hand. A blurred or missing plate is a question, not a detail for later.

What the platform cannot honestly promise

TabAir does not physically inspect every article and does not operate a laboratory. A reviewed account can still upload a bad file, and a genuine-looking certificate can still describe the wrong unit. Receiving inspection exists because of that gap.

We will not claim a detection rate, a seizure count, or a โ€œzero counterfeitโ€ result. Those numbers are not something this article can know, and a marketplace that invents them is doing the thing it says it is against.

What you should do on a live offer

Compare part number, serial number, condition, and documents before payment. If a data plate, a certificate, and a photo disagree, stop. Do not let an AOG label outrank the mismatch.

Report the listing through the platform and keep the files. Payment for the product still goes only to a supplier you have identified, using instructions you have verified.

Prohibited means the listing should not exist

Stop on a mismatch

Compare part number, serial number, condition, and documents before payment. If a data plate, a certificate, and a photo disagree, stop. Do not let an AOG label outrank the mismatch. Report the listing through the platform and keep the files.

Payment for the product still goes only to a supplier you have identified, using instructions you have verified. A suspicious part and a suspicious account change are two reasons to pause, and either one is enough.

Sellers who discover a problem in their own stock should pull the listing before they explain it. Leaving the unit buyable while you investigate is how a quarantine fails in public.
